Interpreters
Updated versions of the leaflet are available from the website – the instructions for using the app remain the same. To ensure you are always using the most up to date version of the resource and seeing all the languages available, please always access them via the NHSGGC website.
We are pleased to confirm the following updates –
- In addition to contacting NHSGGC services, patients can now use the telephone interpreting service to contact 999
- Early issues using the service to contact NHS 24 (111) have now been resolved
- 3 additional languages have been requested and are now available on the NHSGGC website.
How the resource works:
These resources are for patients and contain a code which allows all patients to make direct contact with the telephone interpreting service. For example, patients can now use the telephone interpreting service to call from home and make an appointment with their GP, discuss medications with their Pharmacy, book a Maternity appointment or contact NHS 24.
Home visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 12:00 if you require a home visit.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
